Cheapest shoes online

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

I’ve possible found the cheapest shoes online – Discount Shoe Store – amazing low prices

They sell womens size 3-9 which covers just about everyone’s feet that I know – and they sell blokes shoes and kids shoes too.

I like innovative shoe shops. Ones where you can shop by size or by colour. I love shoes. I’ve got quite a few pairs and I love shopping for more.

On their front page they list a free deliovery voucher code if you spend over £30 – worth noting… and they also tell you about the bags and shoes for £5. This is the bit I like to see – shoe bargains galore!

Their £5 shoe line covers sandals, pointy heels and comfy flats. Loads of colours available too – great range of shoes you could wear to work everyday which is where most of us spend out time! These tend to be end of lines – so not all sizes are available in all of them, but well worth a mooch through!

You can move the mouse over each image and see closen up details, plus they show the sizes in stock in a simple way (look for the orange numbers in the squares) and the price is clearly shown. It’s  a great site and with some truley stupendous shoes at bargain prices!

Shoes Glorious Shoes

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Spring is in the air! March has started with bright sunshine here for the first time in a week. Even if the weather doesn’t last it’s time to think about spring clothes and what you should be buying right now.

Obviously there are some things which will always be essentials. Shoes, for instance, are a necessary purchase. When your current shoes start to dig in, have very worn heels, are scuffed beyond repair and have got holes in the bottom then you are long overdue some new shoes. One little tiny scuff doesn’t mean you need a new pair of shoes. For expensive shoes it’s worth taking the effort to get them sorted out. You can buy leather dyes if it’s scuffed deeply or you can often polish off shoes and remove the scuffed look. For heels you can take them to the cobblers and have them resoled and reheeled. This can be quite expensive so check how much it’ll be first. Unless you’ve got lovely shoes that you want to keep wearing it’s often, sadly, more economical to throw them away and buy new ones.
The exception is of course if they have started hurting you or the inner’s are not very clean.
For most women buying a new pair of shoes is as natural as a visit to the hairdressers, although probably more frequent!

Celine Dion has over 3000 pairs of shoes apparently! Whilst most people don’t have that many, the average woman in the UK has about 30 pairs. That’s an awful lot of shoes! So why do we need to buy more?

Partly because shoes are intended for different things.

Smart shoes are for wearing out for best, and will be less comfortable than work shoes. Work shoes need to be comfortable for people who spend all day on their feet. If you want to know what shoes are most comfortable then ask a nurse or a traffic warden! Driving shoes are shoes which don’t have heels and allow you to feel the pedals properly. Dress shoes are formal shoes, often elaborately decorated and styles in colours to match the rest of the outfit.
Golf shoes, football boots, tennis shoes – these are all sports footwear! Essential for the game you’re playing.
Dance shoes might mean tap shoes, those wonderfully noisy things, or ballet shoes, or soft shoes for country dancing.
Deck shoes are for walking on decks with and are characterised by being flat casual shoes made of canvas or leather, often with a rubber band around the sole of the shoe as decoration. They are intended to be non-slip shoes. Espadrilles are casual flat or sometimes a high-heeled fashion sandals of a style which originated in the Pyrenees. They usually have a cotton or canvas upper and a flexible sole of straw like rope or rubber.

There are many different types of heels including stiletto which are tall and thin. Kitten heels which are low high heels of about 1.5 to 2 inches high, set back from the back of the shoe. Wedge heels are solid across the bottom of the shoe.

Shoes have featured in stories such as Cinderella with the glass slipper; the Wizard of Oz with the ruby red slippers; and in music with David Bowie’s emmortal lines “let’s dance, put on your red shoes and dance the blues” from Let’s Dance.

Shoe throwing is a great insult in some countries as has been seen in the last months of President GW Bush’s presidency.

It’s essential to have a couple of pairs of shoes that are good alrounders that you can wear happily to work or out shopping. Shoes that you trust not to rub your feet or to make your legs ache. And for this reason alone I think it’s enough to make you all buy shoes more regularly!
You spend a vast part of your life walking about or up on your feet so it’s worth making sure you’ve got good quality shoes to keep your feet warm and dry!

Buying shoes online is simple. You know what size you are – and if the shoes don’t fit you can simply send them back. There are loads of great bargains to be had online so it’s worth looking. Some shops allow you to search by colour, heel size and style making it much easier than having to go round dozens of shoe shops!
